Yoga Classes


Yoga is a system of philosophy that originated in India over 5,000 years ago.  The word Yoga derives from Sanskrit , which can be translated as 'union' between mind, body and spirit.


Hatha Yoga is the most widely taught form of yoga in the West.  Classes focus on teaching basic asana or postures which balance the body through improving both strength and flexibility.  Awareness of breath is integral throughout promoting relaxation and overall physical and mental well –being and balance.  Postures can be modified to suit individual needs and all levels of experience are welcome.


Regular Classes are held in Newhaven, at Grays infant school, on Sunday and Monday evenings from 7.30 to 8.45pm. Please see the Open Programmes page for full details.

Pregnancy Yoga


Yoga is an ideal form of exercise

during pregnancy.


  1. Boost energy

  2. Aid Sleep and relaxation

  3. Relieve minor ailments i.e swollen joints, constipation

  4. Reduce stress and anxiety

  5. Prepare for and relieve pain in childbirth

  6. Promote bonding with your baby



Pregnancy can be a profoundly beautiful and sacred time in a woman’s life.  It is also possibly the greatest time of transformation.  Yoga empowers us to honour and recognise our own instinctive inner teacher. Its practice serves as a guide and provides an invaluable tool kit to support and aid a smooth and calm physical and emotional transition through to motherhood.
